Gifmock started with a problem I had myself. I often found that a GIF was the simplest way to explain a concept, and I wanted an easy way to make one from the static layers I was already designing.
I designed and built a tool that worked directly inside Sketch, and later Figma. You could turn layers into frames, adjust their timing, preview the animation, and export a GIF without leaving your design tool.
I ran the business too, and kept working on the details that made a difference when using it: cropping out empty space, choosing the right resolution, and lining everything up. The clips below show some of that work.
